Hawaiian Heirloom Lei’s goal was to create the Most Beautiful Handcrafted Maile Lei in the World that will last forever. We are very pleased to add this Lei to our Maile Lei Series.
The entire lei is dipped with one micron thick Heavy Gold Plating. Our 24k Heavy Gold Dipped Maile Lei are shipped in are presented in an airtight storage bag including a small polishing cloth and instructions of how to care for your maile lei.

Our Maile leaves were created by our artists who patterned them from fresh maile leaves grown on the Island of Maui. This smaller leaf variety is called Maile Lau Li’i. Then our artists crafted each individual leaf using solid brass as a core for our 24k Heavy Gold Dipped Maile. After highly polishing and hand bending each individual leaf, our maile leaves were professionally electroplated with a heavy one micron thick 24k gold. This double thickness of gold plating is called Heavy Gold Plating and lasts twice as long as normal gold plated jewelry.
We use 24k gold which is pure 100% gold and more costly than say 12k gold which is only 50% pure gold. Only 24k gold stays shiny and does not discolor or tarnish. No other gold is the same rich color as 24k gold.
